Are you still counting or are you already playing? Golf tip #1!
Hello and welcome to today's golf video!
This week I want to talk about whether it makes sense to start a round of golf with the goal of achieving a certain score. I see it time and time again in coaching situations that many golfers start their round with a desired score in mind, and I think that's a mistake. Let me explain why this is the case and what alternative I have for you. Imagine you start your round with the fixed goal of achieving a certain score. Let's assume you want to play a bogey round, i.e. 18 over or better. This puts you under pressure before you even tee off, as your focus is on a specific score. Golf requires a lot of patience, and how can you be patient if you feel that every shot is taking you closer or further away from your goal?
