Captains trip to Kitzbühel from 19-22 September 2022
10 captains and trip organisers and 6 accompanying persons accepted the invitation from the Kitzbühel golf region and, despite modest weather forecasts, were rewarded with rain-free rounds of golf, well-maintained and varied golf courses, wonderful impressions and a sociable group of participants.
Monday afternoon was the meeting point on the terrace of the 5* hotel "A-ROSA", where we were welcomed by Esther Ebenhöh-Döttlinger(GC Kaps) and Guido Hinterseer(GC Schwarzsee) and spoilt with a generous, tasty snack and cake/coffee.
And those responsible at the Golf Eldorado Kitzbühel were able to impressively demonstrate their flexibility and organisational talent right at the start of our trip.
Due to days of heavy rain, we were unable to play our first round of golf at GC Kaps as planned, but had to switch to the back nine at GC Eichenheim without further ado.
Of course, the course there was also very wet, but in very good condition and playable.
In the evening, we were warmly welcomed at the 4* Lisi Family Hotel in Reith by the hotel manager Sandra Hummel with an aperitif at the bar. The breakfast/dinner buffet and the meals served were excellent on all days: well cooked, beautifully presented, varied and something for every taste.
On Tuesday, we started our round of golf at 8.30 a.m. at GC Schwarzsee. The stunning mountain panorama all around, great views and interesting fairways were a delight from start to finish.
In the afternoon, taxi buses took us to the Hahnenkamm cable car, where we got a spectacular impression of the start house and the mousetrap of the legendary Streif downhill run after the ascent.
Afterwards, we went to the "Einsiedelei" for an evening in a mountain hut and savoured Kaspressknödel soup, Kässpätzle, Tyrolean G'röstl, fried chicken and Kaiserschmarrn.
After a digestive schnapps, we took the taxi buses back to the hotel and enjoyed a cosy end to an eventful second day at the bar.
To round off the golfing day, we headed to GC Eichenheim on Wednesday, where we played the front nine, followed by a 9-hole round at GC Kaps.
Both courses are fantastic, varied and well-maintained courses that you simply have to see and play.
In the afternoon, the numerous impressions could be processed over a wellness dinner or plans could be made for the next trip. The cosy end to the evening, a hopefully restful night and a good, accident-free journey home on Thursday brought this fantastic trip to the Kitzbühel golf region to a close.
However, half of the participants took the opportunity on Thursday to play a round of golf at the GC Wilder Kaiser in Ellmau, a 15-minute drive away.
In fantastic weather, with the snow-covered mountains in view, it was a very successful finale on a wonderful, very selective golf course.
Many thanks to everyone involved for a wonderful time!
I would particularly like to emphasise the warm hospitality and friendliness of all the staff, who made this event a complete success. THANK YOU and see you soon.
