Golf & Country Club Gut Altentann
PERFECTLY TENDED TREASURE CLOSE TO SALZBURG (designed by Jack Nicklaus)
The course, the first designed in continental Europe by golfer of the century Jack Nicklaus, lies about 20 minutes from the festival city of Salzburg, and is reckoned by all golfers, whether pros or amateurs, to be amongst the most beautiful in Europe. You will notice that Jack Nicklaus used all his love of the game, his knowledge and his three special design criteria when developing the course: „Firstly, golf should be more of a game of accuracy than brute strength. Secondly, every player is rewarded by using head before muscle. Thirdly, as little of the original landscape should be disturbed as little as absolutely necessary.“
The „Austrian Open“ was played for the fi rst time in the years 1990 to 1992 with international participation.
Nestling in a delightful landscape with gently rolling hills, lush meadows and streams winding undisturbed through the countryside, the golf course with its hills, bunkers and water hazards lining the fairways fi ts in admirably.
Relaxation after the round is guaranteed in the clubhouse: a renovated stable block over 300 years old. The well-stocked pro shop and the restaurant, with carefully selected Austrian dishes, provide the framework for enjoyment, relaxing and comfort. Magnificent landscape, perfect attention, civilised golfing, and a luxuriously rustic clubhouse will make your golfing in Altentann a wonderful experience - an experience on a Leading Golf Course of Austria!
