Exciting decisions at the club championships at GC Lengenfeld

The sporting highlight of the golf season was particularly exciting this year.

After the first round on the Donauland course, Stefan Koppensteiner and Arnold Prommer were tied for the lead with 80 strokes. Gerhard Burger and Gerd Watzinger followed 2 strokes behind. The Kamptal course was played on the second day and Arnold Prommer showed nerves of steel and ultimately won the club champion title with a 3-stroke lead.

At the halfway stage, defending champion Margit Elmer led the women's competition with a round of 87 strokes, also 2 strokes ahead of Christine Presslmeyr and Gabriele Goels with 89 strokes.
In the second round, Gaby Goels was able to make up the narrow deficit with consistent play and won with a 3-stroke lead and a total of 173 strokes ahead of Margit Elmer and 5 strokes ahead of Christine Presslmeyr.

The favourites prevailed in the special rankings.
Laszlo Tar was once again in a class of his own in the Masters Seniors and had a lead of 14 strokes over second-placed Reinhard Maier after the two rounds
Alfred Scharwitzl was crowned Senior Champion and Gerd Watzinger is the 2023 MidAm Club Champion.

Defending champion Finn-Jonathan Niklas is once again delighted with the youth championship title. Laurenz Scharwitzl was only able to reduce the deficit from round 1 from 5 strokes to 4 on the second day and finished second.

The traditional bathing of the club champions in the pond in front of the club restaurant "GASThouse" was the highlight after the award ceremony - the new club champions went for a spectacular swim to the delight of the spectators.
