Lake Millstätter See lies to the north of the Drau Valley near Spittal. It lies at 588 metres above sea level and is the second largest lake in Carinthia after Lake Wörthersee. Eight villages belong to the region. In Seeboden you will find the only golf course in this region, the 18-hole Millstätter See golf course. The two golf hotels are located directly or a short walk from the golf course.

The 300 metre-long tunnel that connects to the exhibition gives visitors an insight into the underground home of the gemstone.
