The golf course designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus - his first in Europe - is located just 20 minutes from the festival city of Salzburg and is regarded by golfers of all levels of experience as one of the most beautiful courses in Europe.

Jack Nicklaus brought all his expertise and attention to detail to the development of this course, always keeping his three design principles in mind: “Firstly, golf should be a game of precision, not power. Secondly, every player who uses his head instead of his muscles will be rewarded. Thirdly, the natural landscape should be altered as little as possible.”

From 1990 to 1992, the “Austrian Open” were already held here. In 2025, the DP World Tour Austrian Alpine Open presented by Salzburger Land finally returned to this extraordinary course, bringing world-class players back to the region—and delivering a golfing event unlike any other. Both players and organizers were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional course quality, the distinctive fairways, and the breathtakingly fast greens.

A nail-biting finish right up to the last hole crowned the event, with Nikolai von Dellingshausen emerging as the radiant champion. A tournament that set new standards—and powerfully demonstrated why this course is one of the true gems in international golf.
