IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn: on the way to joining Europe’s golfing elite through investment and innovation
Over the weekend of 5 and 6 September 2025, the team at the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn showcased the latest developments in its golf programme. Georg and Ingrid Imlauer, General Manager Ines Wohlmuther-Maier and Golf Manager Christian Seiringer were delighted to welcome numerous guests. Media representatives, figures from the worlds of politics and business, and golf enthusiasts accepted the Imlauer family’s invitation to witness the progress made at the golf resort.

As early as Friday, during the ‘President’s Prize’ tournament – the long-established closing event of the Pichlarn Autumn Golf Week – the application for inclusion in the “Leading Courses” was officially handed over to President Rudi Horn – an important step on the path to joining the European golfing elite.
On Saturday, amidst glorious late-summer weather, guests witnessed the grand opening of the new TrackMan Range. The Imlauer family invested around EUR 3 million in the redesign of the golf course. In collaboration with Olazabal Design, a comprehensive modernisation of the 18-hole course was completed in 2024. Particular highlights include the completely refurbished driving range and practice area with state-of-the-art TrackMan bays, new chipping and putting greens, an additional retention pond for sustainable irrigation, and the spectacular new signature hole 5 with panoramic views of the castle and the Grimming mountain.
The result is a unique complex in Austria: a combination of a 5-star resort with 110 rooms, a variety of dining venues offering award-winning cuisine, and an 18-hole golf course that is establishing itself as one of the best in the country. “Our aim is to become one of Austria’s leading golf resorts and to rank amongst the top 20 courses in Europe,” said Georg Imlauer.
Social commitment was not neglected either: At the charity event in aid of Lebenshilfe Ennstal – which has been managing the greenhouse in Pichlarn since spring 2025 – over EUR 700 was raised through symbolic tee shots. The Imlauer family generously rounded the amount up to EUR 2,000.
Particularly attractive for hotel guests at the moment is the ‘Golf Unlimited’ package: In September 2025, guests staying for five nights or more will enjoy unlimited green fees on the hotel’s own 18-hole course – and from October onwards, this will apply to stays of just three nights or more.
With investment, innovative drive and genuine hospitality, the IMLAUER Hotel Schloss Pichlarn is setting new standards – and confirming its ambition to rank amongst the top tier of European golf destinations.
