Golfing at Lake Achensee

The Achensee Golf Club is not only the oldest golf course in Tyrol (since 1934), but also one of the most famous and beautiful 18-hole golf courses in the Tyrolean Alps. The flat golf course starts in the village and leads you into a natural paradise of alpine meadows and old trees - with views of the nearby Karwendel mountains.

The Achensee golf region has a lot to offer in general. The magical combination of golf, mountains and lake opens up a unique golf holiday paradise. Lake Achensee has drinking water quality and, at 10 kilometres long, is the largest bathing lake in Tyrol. Here you can sail, surf or admire the crystal-clear play of colours on a boat trip. The mountain landscape of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains in the heart of the Alps not only provides a picturesque setting for the region's two golf courses, but is also one of the largest and most important conservation areas for ibex, chamois, marmots, golden eagles and many other rare animal and plant species. These 920 km² of unspoilt mountains and valleys stretch as far as Bavaria and offer you unique nature experiences with over 100 alpine pastures.

The second golf course in the region, the 9-hole Alpengolf course in Achenkirch, is located on the other side of the lake and is ideal for a round of golf while the children have fun in the Achensee Adventure Park or the Achensee Atoll, for example.

If you overdo it with your ambition on the two golf courses in the region, the unique Tiroler Steinöl® can provide relief. It is extracted from oil shale 1,500 metres above Lake Achensee and brings out active ingredients from prehistoric marine animals and plants - a tried and tested home remedy for aching musculoskeletal systems, for example. You can try out and purchase some Tiroler Steinöl® products at our golf hotel on Lake Achensee.
