Hallstatt
Hallstatt is much more than an alpine cliché that has even been copied in China. Salt was mined at this beautiful power spot as early as 4,000 years ago. Today you can discover the oldest salt mine in the world here, as well as Celtic grave finds or the morbid ossuary, a collection of more than 600 painted skulls. A trip on the Navia across Lake Hallstatt is also very nice. This traditional wooden boat used to transport the Hallstatt salt to the Danube.
