Why you never play golf consistently
Do you sometimes play golf really well – only for it all to fall apart shortly afterwards? In this video, you’ll find out why your golf game constantly swings between ‘hit the top’ and ‘hit the flop’, and why true consistency often doesn’t start with your swing, but with your behaviour after your last shot.
Consistency in golf doesn’t mean hitting every ball perfectly. No golfer plays flawlessly. What matters is how quickly you regain your inner composure after a good or bad shot.
Many golfers lose their consistency not because of a single mistake, but because of their reaction to it: A poor drive leads to a recovery shot. A good score leads to a conservative shot. A missed putt stays on your mind and affects the next tee shot. This is precisely what creates that familiar pattern: one hole on top form, the next a flop.
In this video, I’ll show you why your golf game remains so inconsistent and how you can use the ‘three-shot test’ on the course to work out whether your consistency really is let down by your swing – or by what happens between your shots.
In this video, you’ll learn:
- why consistency doesn’t mean playing flawlessly
- why you mustn’t become ‘a different player’ after every shot
- why recovery shots make your game unstable
- why defensive shots often take away precisely the freedom that made you play well
- how to get back into the swing of things more quickly after mistakes
- why a bad shot doesn’t automatically have to mean a bad hole
- how to develop more consistency on the course using the three-stroke test
- why genuine golfing performance is built between strokes
The key idea:
Consistency doesn’t mean you don’t make mistakes. Consistency means that you don’t fall apart after a mistake.
If you want to play more consistently, especially under pressure, then this video is for you.
Golf Performance Weekend in Westendorf
Instead, I’m working on a one-to-one basis directly on the course – over an extended golf performance weekend from Friday to Sunday.
We work on the very moments when consistency is built or lost:
• after a poor tee shot
• before an important putt
• when you’re on a good run
• after an unnecessary mistake
• on narrow fairways
• when facing difficult decisions
• in moments when old habits usually take over
The aim is no longer theory. The aim is to put it into practice: clear routines, better decisions and greater consistency on the course.
If you’re interested in the personalised golf performance weekend at GC Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf, please send me a brief email containing the following sentence:
“I’m interested.”
