Ball holed?
13.3 Ball protrudes over the edge of the hole
13.3a Waiting time to determine whether a ball protruding over the edge of the hole will fall into the hole.
If a player's ball partially protrudes over the edge of the hole after a stroke,
-the player is permitted to reach the hole within a reasonable time and wait a further ten seconds to see if the ball falls into the hole.
-If the ball enters the hole within this waiting time, the player has holed out with his previous shot.
-If the ball does not fall into the hole within this waiting time,
"it is deemed to be at rest.
"If the ball subsequently falls into the hole before it is played, the player has potted the hole with his previous stroke, but adds a penalty stroke to the score of the hole.
The ball does not fall into the hole:
Mark and pick up the ball, mend the pitch mark and then return the ball to the original spot.
But what should you do if the returned ball does not remain in its original position?
If the player tries to put a ball back but it does not stop at the original spot, he must try to put the ball back a second time.
If the ball again does not stop at that spot, the player must return the ball by placing it in the next closest spot where the ball stops.
But with these restrictions, depending on the position of the original spot:
-The spot must not be closer to the hole.
-Original spot on the green. The nearest spot must be either on the green or in the terrain.
