Changes to the Rules of Golf 2023 - Part 2

Rule 3.3b(4) Player not responsible for displaying handicap on scorecard or adding up hole scores

-> The rule has been changed so that a player no longer has to show his handicap on his scorecard. The tournament organiser is responsible for calculating the player's handicap strokes for the tournament and for determining his net score based on this.
->In the World Handicap System, it has not become any easier for players to extrapolate their handicap index for a new tournament from rounds that have not yet been entered. Even if the responsibility for determining the course handicap now lies with the match organisers, a player is still obliged to inform the match organisers that his handicap has not yet been calculated on the basis of all the results played. The match organisers must then decide whether to take this into account, which exempts the player from incurring a penalty for playing with an incorrect handicap.
