Course Management - Positive thinking
There are four key elements or "pillars" that together form a solid foundation for good golf. They are like the legs of a table - if one is missing, the whole table becomes unstable. Each of the four legs is important. They can be seen as a mathematical equation:
Technique x Physical x Equipment x Mental = Success.
In my presentations, I always give the participants this belief: "You almost always get the result you think about." Or: "If you're already thinking anyway, why not be positive?"
My 50 years of experience working closely with people and often being very close to them has shown me that most people have far too little self-confidence. They often only see the bad and not the good. Or they let bad blows, which inevitably happen again and again, get to them for too long and remember them again and again. Why is this the case? Maybe you have the answer.
In my opinion, it is a privilege to be able to play golf at all, in terms of time, money and health. You also spend so much time in beautiful surroundings, in nature. Have you ever played golf early in the morning and experienced what's going on on a course, from the wildlife to sunrises and the like? Everyone should be aware of this!
I often hear that golf makes you humble. I don't think there's any room for humility here, because it's a gift and a privilege to be able to have these experiences at all. Everyone should be aware of this fact every time they step onto the golf course.
