Responsibilities for the scorecard

3.3b Results in the counting game
A player's results are entered on the player's scorecard by the counter. The counter shall either be determined by the match director or selected by the player in a manner approved by the match director.
The player must have the same counter for the entire round, unless the match management authorises a change of counter either beforehand or afterwards.

(1) Counter's responsibility: To record and confirm the results of the holes on the scorecard.
During the round, the scorer should clarify the number of strokes (strokes played including penalty strokes) with the player after each hole and enter this gross result on the scorecard.
At the end of the round
-The counter must confirm the results of the holes on the scorecard.
-If the player had more than one counter, each counter must confirm the results for the holes on which he was the counter.

Player's responsibility: Confirm the results of the holes and submit the scorecard.
During the round, the player should keep track of his scores for each hole.
At the end of the round
-The player should carefully check the scores entered by his counter on each hole and clarify any outstanding issues with the scorekeeper.
-The player must ensure that the scorekeeper confirms the results of the holes on the scorecard.
-The player may not change a hole result entered by the scorekeeper unless the change is made with the consent of the scorekeeper or the authorisation of the match management.
-The player must confirm the hole results on the scorecard and submit them to the scorekeeper immediately. After this, the player may no longer change the scorecard.
If the player violates one of the provisions of Rule 3.3b, he is disqualified.

unplayable ball

3.3b(2)/2 - Changes to a scorecard do not need to be specially countersigned
If a scorer or the scorekeeper approves changes to the result of a hole on the scorecard, neither the player nor the scorer is required to sign or make a special confirmation of the changed result.
The player's confirmation (signature) applies to all hole results, including the changed ones.
