The routines of the best - tips for the driving range & the course - Part 4

Tip 4: No full throttle with the driver

The next exercise focuses on swinging the driver at full range, but only at 50% of your normal speed. This means you host as far out and swing as far through as you always do, but at a much more relaxed and slower pace. Then gradually increase your speed until you reach the point where it feels too forced. Many people find this exercise challenging at first, but you'll be amazed at how well it works once you get used to it.

The aim here is to find out if you can handle and control your speed under pressure on the court. We all know that our swing tempo changes when things are going particularly well or particularly badly, causing most golfers to play far too fast. The best golfers in the world hit many drivers at 80-90% of their maximum power, which gives them some leeway when they need a full drive.

The ability to play with your timing and power is a huge advantage and also makes training a lot more fun. it will also boost your confidence considerably.
