Typical stress situations that everyone knows - The first tee shot!
Every golfer knows that the first shot on the first hole is special. Although it is just one of many shots you will hit today, it has a strong influence on your mood for the rest of the game.
How can you make sure this shot is a success? A good tip is to not necessarily choose the club that might create the most deviation in the trajectory. Maybe a 5 wood will get your ball onto the fairway sooner than a driver. Practise on the range with a smaller wood off the tee to give you more options.
Then comes my favourite topic: shot preparation - the routine. You need to find a routine that you do before every shot and that suits you. Many of my students ask what the best preparation is. You have to find that out for yourself. Some golfers are very quick, others need more time. A good routine is your safe harbour. With a good routine you will be able to tune out the distractions on the tee and concentrate on what you want to do.
