What should I bear in mind when swinging through?
The follow-through is underestimated by many golfers. Often with the argument that the ball has already been hit. In fact, you can no longer influence the flight of the ball after impact. But if you didn't want to swing through, you would have to slow down before you hit the ball.
A golf swing takes about 1.5 seconds. And the follow-through is part of this movement. Every movement has a beginning and an end. It is certainly not detrimental to the consistency of your swing if you make yourself aware of the final position. It will be much easier for your brain to coordinate the complex movement of the golf swing if it is clear where it is going.
The question is not how far you should take your follow-through, but how far you can take it. Youngsters can bend endlessly. But unfortunately, most golfers don't belong to this group and don't have the physical requirements of a tour pro. So find out for yourself where your follow-through can end and aim for this end position with every swing. This will help you to execute your swing more consistently.
In my eyes, the follow-through is a reflection of the entire swing and I can recognise what happened before in the swing.
