Each golf course in Tyrol offers a different, highly individual experience. One thing they have in common, however, are dramatic mountain views: e.g. of the Wilder Kaiser mountain ridge from the Kitzbühel, Ellmau and Kaiserwinkl GCs or of the huge Karwendel mountains from the golf clubs in the Innsbruck, Seefeld and Achensee areas. Furthermore, all Tyrolean golf clubs presented by us, your experts for golfing vacations in Austria, pride themselves in maintaining their facilities in perfect conditions – and on extending a friendly welcome to golfing guests.

Leading Golf Courses in Tyrol

There are currently three Leading Golf Courses in Tyrol. That being said, Tyrol’s golf courses generally meet the highest standards when it comes to maintenance and design.

If you are looking for an intense Leading Golf experience in Tyrol, you should select a golf hotel near the Zillertal-Uderns and Achensee GCs. These two golf facilities are only a 20 minutes’ drive apart and show the full range of Tyrol’s Leading Golf Courses. The Zillertal-Uderns GC is Tyrol’s newest Leading Golf Course. It is marked by broad and perfectly maintained fairways, large greens, fruit trees and wide views. Its club house with a top-notch restaurant, a very cool lounge terrace and an integrated golf hotel is a prime example of what Tyrol’s Leading Golf Courses are all about. The Achensee GC is the oldest golf course in Tyrol and offers a flat and challenging golf facility between Alpine pastures, ancient forests and the Karwendel mountains – with many spectacular photo opportunities!

Leading Golf and sustainable landscaping

For years the Seefeld-Wildmoos GC, Tyrol’s most highly elevated golf course (at 1300 metres above sea level), has been focusing on the sustainable cultivation of the natural landscapes entrusted to it.

This is why certain areas on this Leading Golf Course are reserved as habitats for endangered animals and plants and no pesticides are used here. What makes this unique Tyrolean golf course so special are the beautiful meadows near the fairways and the remarkable mountain pastures in the Wildmoos natural reserve. It is great to see how the team of the Seefeld Wildmoos GC combines the standards of a Leading Golf Course with first-rate service, golf course maintenance and environmental protection! By the way, the golf club will soon start selling its own forest honey...

Your golfing hosts in Tyrol

Tyrolean charm

The managers and staff of all the Tyrolean golf hotels and golf facilities presented here are experts for golfing vacations in Austria. This means that they know just what their golfing guests require and have always been operating their businesses with the comfort and convenience of their golfing guests in mind. We recommend having your golf hotel book the tee times for your rounds of golf in Tyrol!

Kitzbühel, Tyrol’s golf centre in the Alps

If excellent golf courses with splendid views of rugged mountain ranges appeal to you and if you would like to experience Alpine lifestyle firsthand, the Kitzbühel golf region is the perfect place for you!

There are four golf courses within the city limits of Kitzbühel – and all of these golf courses are simply legendary. The oldest, the Kitzbühel Kaps GC – founded in 1959 – is “just” a 9-hole course, but it is absolutely worth playing at least twice! We recommend taking a break at the impressive club house of this traditional Tyrolean golf club, with a view of the 1st hole and the 9th hole. The Rasmushof 9-hole course is also legendary, especially because it is at the finish line of the famous skiing race that takes place every winter on the Streif downhill slope. The two 18-hole golf facilities Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee and Eichenheim are famous for their Alpine golfing enjoyment, magnificent views and many sporty challenges.

A golfing vacation in a TV location

All 27 holes of the Wilder Kaiser Ellmau GC as well as the terraces and pools of its partner hotels offer splendid views of the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.

This is arguably the most famous panoramic view in all our golf regions, because it is also the setting for a popular TV series called “Bergdoktor”. Fans of the series can visit the locations of the TV shoots along special hiking and e-biking routes.

Golfing in the Kaiserwinkl region

The tranquil Kaiserwinkl golf region boasts a choice of four golf courses within a driving distance of only 15 minutes.

The 18-hole facilities of the Kaiserwinkl Golf Kössen-Lärchenhof and Reit im Winkl GCs and the two 9-hole courses of the Lärchenhof and Moarhof GCs provide a variety of convenient golfing options behind the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. Incidentally, you can reach this golf region by car without having to purchase a toll disc.

Golfing around the city of Innsbruck

Innsbruck is the capital of the province of Tyrol.

When playing golf at the Golfpark Mieminger Plateau, the Seefeld-Wildmoos GC, the Seefeld-Reith GC or on the two golf courses of the Innsbruck-Igls GC, you should definitely schedule a few hours to take a stroll through Innsbruck. The city boasts great promenades and many historic sights but also exemplifies a young and modern Tyrolean lifestyle.

A golfing vacation in the Kitzbühel Alps

In addition to the excellent golf courses in the city of Kitzbühel, the Kitzbühel Alps golf region boasts another very beautiful and flat golf course on a quiet and sunny plateau: the Westendorf GC.

The Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf GC is a comparatively new Tyrolean golf course (opened in 2014) and has developed into a true golfing gem. Its partnering golf hotels are located in Westendorf, which once won the title of “Europe’s most beautiful village in bloom” in the “Entente Florale Europe” competition.

A relaxing golfing vacation in Tyrol

Tyrol’s golf hotels offer first-rate quality and services.

Large golf and spa hotels such as the Alpenresort Schwarz, the Bio-Wellnesshotel Holzleiten, the Hotel Peternhof, the Hotel Wöscherhof or the Hotel Der Lärchenhof offer any spa and health treatments you could imagine. For extraordinary culinary delights we for instance recommend the golf hotels Minglers Sportalm, Hotel Der Bär or Sportresidenz Zillertal. Small, friendly golf hotels such as the Aktiv- und Wellnesshotel Haidachhof, the Gasteiger Jagdschlössl, the Hotel Gut Hanneshof or the gems of the Zillerseasons Luxury Hotel Collection provide unique havens for your personal quality time after your rounds of golf. And the views from Tyrolean golf hotels such as the Panoramahotel Inntalerhof, the Hotel Kaiserblick Ellmau, the Vaya Hotel or the Alpenhotel Kitzbühel alone are enough to release endorphins.

Tyrol’s legendary golfing hosts

Have you ever played golf with the manager of a Tyrolean golf hotel, such as the Hotel Schermer, the Hotel Der Wiesenhof, the Gartenhotel Crystal, the Kosis Sports Lifestyle Hotel or the Hotel Bergland?

If you have, you will know just how much fun a round of golf in Tyrol can be. If not, you should use your next opportunity to play a round of golf or participate in a golf tournament with any of these Tyrolean golfing hosts. And if you are invited to go on a hike or participate in a breakfast in the mountains, for instance organised by the Alpenhof Brixen, you should definitely accept! We guarantee that you will take home many unforgettable memories of your golfing vacation in Tyrol.

Gourmet golfing vacations in Tyrol

All golf hotels in Tyrol serve excellent food that goes far beyond culinary Tyrolean clichés such as Tiroler Gröstl (potatoes and meat fried in a pan), Speckknödel (bacon dumplings) or Bretteljause (cold lunch served on a chopping board).

In general, Tyrol’s golf hotels serve a light and modern cuisine that attaches great importance to local ingredients and authentic recipes. Hotels like the Gartenhotel Crystal, the Wöscherhof or the Sportresidenz Zillertal serve meat from their own hunting grounds and fruit and vegetables grown in their own gardens. A few lucky guests at the Gasteiger Jagdschlössl might even get a chance to go hunting with the owner.

We also recommend exploring the culinary delights offered at the club houses of Tyrol’s golf clubs. The Stöttlalm at the Golfpark Mieminger Plateau or the club houses of the Kitzbühel Kaps, Eichenheim and Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf GCs are well known among golfing gourmets for their excellent food.

Family golfing vacations in Tyrol

Combining a family vacation with a golfing trip can be tricky.

Maybe not all members of your family want to play golf. This is why hotels such as the Lisi Family Hotel in Kitzbühel, the Panoramahotel Inntaler Hof, the Hotel Peternhof and the Lärchenhof offer a wide range of activities to make sure that everybody has a good time. Since all these golf hotels are close to a golf course, you will have enough time to join your family in shared activities, on and off the green.
